Von Hecks forces were too weakened to threaten this position so camped near the Teufelwasser bridge to re-organise and recover from the battle.
Von Heck was unaware that during the fierce fight for the bridge the Eisenburg General Fritz von Essling had marched west from Korbrucke with a force of three full regiments of foot and Kazinskys lancers with supporting light infantry and artillery. (see the red line on the map)
Von Essling crossed the Teiner and took Hecksheim capturing the small garrison with ease and by dusk was camped on the west road awaiting his old enemy.
August von Bruckenheim was marching east with the rest of the Altstein army to deal with the incursion.
There is going to be a fight...

Very effective maps Paul, looking forward to the next instalment.
ReplyDeleteThe next installment is in the can awaiting production.

Hi Paul- It is good to see you making use of your Incarnate MAPS and editing them according to Army movements. Will enjoy seeing the flow on scenario Battle. Your Generals in the caption look great. Cheers. KEV.
ReplyDeleteThanks KEV, I first used the map makers on a fantasy blog I started back in January, it is called Swords and Sagas and I will make it public now. It is a medieval setting with orcs, trolls and vikings, you will be able to find it by my profile if you are interested.
